FAQ and Rules
What is this week about?
ShuSumi Week is dedicated to celebrating, creating and sharing content about the shipping between Persona 5’s Protagonist Joker and Kasumi Yoshizawa. There will be 7 days of prompts including a free day where creators will produce and post content based on the day’s theme.
What do the Shu and Sumi stand for?
The Shu is short for the word “Shujinko” which means “protagonist” in Japanese. Sumi is a shortened form of Kasumi.
What kind of submissions will be accepted?
We will accept all kinds of submissions ranging from fanart, fanfiction, headcanon posts, edits and collages! Basically, if you can create it, we will accept it!
Will NSFW submissions be accepted?
Yes, however we will keep things generally SFW so there will be extra rules for NSFW submissions. When posting on Twitter, please post it first to Privatter (or a similar website that doesn’t display the NSFW image) while providing a SFW preview. For NSFW fanfiction, any warnings or triggers must be clarified and posted before we will promote them.
Non-con and dub-con content will not be permitted.
How do I submit?
Simply ping us (@ShuSumiWeek) and/or add the hashtag #ShuSumiWeek and we will RT. Submissions posted on AO3 will be added to the ShuSumi Week collection. If you don’t see us sharing your submission, send us a message! One of our mods will get to it when they can. Keep in mind that the mod team are busy people so don’t panic if we don’t get to it/RT right away!
Do submissions need to be in English?
No, they do not! We accept and encourage ShuSumi fans of all countries and languages to post! Just make sure you add the hashtag #ShuSumiWeek or let one of our moderators know that it's for ShuSumi Week so we can promote it!
I have an ongoing ShuSumi work, is it okay to submit that for the week?
Sorry but no, we will only be accepting submissions NEW for the week. Ongoing works are allowed however, if they begin during ShuSumi week.
Are other ships and pairings allowed?
Yes, they are however, the main focus of each submission MUST be ShuSumi. However there will be no ship bashing (or character bashing) allowed in the submission otherwise we will not accept it. Poly/multishipping will not be allowed if it involves ShuSumi. We want them to be the focus!
General Rules
All works must be ShuSumi related and tagged with the hashtag #ShuSumiWeek in order for us to promote it. On AO3, it should be clarified somewhere that it is a submission for ShuSumi Week.
NSFW submissions must be tagged accordingly before we are able to accept them. We want people of all ages to enjoy the ShuSumi content. Non-con and dub-con content will not be permitted.
Under no circumstances will any form of hate be tolerated whether it be ship bashing, character bashing, hating on content, content creators or moderators. We want this to be a celebration of ShuSumi and a fun experience for everyone.
Everyone is invited to participate and if you feel like you can’t contribute, then that’s okay! You can still join in by posting screenshots or videos of P5R, sharing headcanons or simply by retweeting, liking or giving kudos.
Keep in mind that this isn’t a competition. This isn’t about who can write more or post more art. This is all to celebrate the wonderful ship that is ShuSumi.
Have fun with it! This is meant to be an event that everyone can partake in.
What types of submissions are allowed?
Anything is permitted as long as it is within the rules and guidelines set. Don’t think this is limited to just fanart or fanfiction. If you have another talent like cosplaying, creating video montages or photo collages then go for it! Just remember to tag your posts with #ShuSumiWeek so we can share it!
You are allowed to submit as many posts as you like. If you want to go ahead and do all the days, go for it or if you only want to just do one or two, then that’s okay. There is also no limit to how many submissions you can do per day so if you have multiple pieces for one prompt then that’s great too!
NSFW works are allowed however the thumbnails and links must be SFW for us to retweet it! Something like Privatter is recommended.
We support other ships however the main focus of each submission MUST be ShuSumi and as such we will only be retweeting ShuSumi focused content. Poly/Multishipping ShuSumi will not be accepted as a submission.
Ships involving minors with adults of any kind (a character over 18 shipped with a character under 18) will not be permitted whether explicitly stated, shown or otherwise implied. Platonic and familial relationships are allowed, however.
